BESAFE project releases its first two policy briefs 26.11.2013 |
The first two policy briefs as a direct product of the BESAFE project are now a fact. The two briefs: “How have we advanced our understanding of the links between biodiversity, ecosystem functions and ecosystem services?”, and “What kind of information on ecosystem services is relevant for decision making, and how can we incorporate it in the decision making process?”, focus on different aspects of the advancement of science-policy dialogue in the context of ecosystems services research and make suggestions for future development and improvements.
The policy briefs are available to view and download, alongside other project materials, in our Media Centre (http://besafe.pensoft.net/page.php?P=37&SP=71) and Policy User Corner (http://besafe.pensoft.net/page.php?P=45).
BESAFE stands for “Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services: Arguments for our Future Environment” and the general aim of BESAFE is to improve our understanding of the alternative ways in which concepts for the ‘value of biodiversity’ can be used to improve biodiversity policy making. The two policy briefs give an overview on the development of such arguments, and respectively the ways in which they should be implemented, to provide a summary of the main results and conclusions from the project.
