The article “Four barriers to the global understanding of biodiversity conservation: wealth, language, geographical location and security” published in Proceedings B, the Royal Society's flagship biological research journal, explores the challenges in front of global biodiversity conservation.

The article discusses the effect of four major factors on biodiversity conservation awareness. Wealth, language, geographical location and security, are each seen as playing an important role in explaining variations in data availability in the different types of biodiversity databases.

A summarizing abstract and the full article are available at: http://rspb.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/280/1756/20122649.short?rss=1
